How Tumble adds 10,000 incremental subscribers in three months with Shoptin

Learn how this home furnishings brand partnered with Shoptin to capture more marketing consent at checkout without disrupting the customer experience.

10,000 incremental subscribers
29% higher opt-in (30-day A/B)
$185K incremental LTV (three months)
"When Shoptin came across my desk, I thought it was interesting — a way to get people onto our mailing list who are really high-intent and likely to re-purchase, done in a way that's obviously compliant and seamless. Most interestingly, the implementation was truly one click. Other brands say that, but there are always downstream implications, you have to change customer service flows, internal SOPs, and it breaks something else. This was quite literally just turn it on."

About

Tumble is a home furnishings brand for people who care deeply about how their homes look and feel.

Founded in the United States and now available in Canada, Tumble creates thoughtfully designed products that balance timeless style with the functionality of everyday living.

Every piece is designed in-house and made to stand up to real life. From Washable Rugs to cushioned playmats, its products pair design with thoughtful details that make homes more comfortable, beautiful, and livable.

Challenge

Turning a considered $300+ purchase into a multi-purchase relationship.

Tumble's average order value is over $300, and rugs are a heavily considered purchase. Customers measure their rooms, coordinate with partners, and order swatches.

Retention is the mechanism that turns a single high-AOV purchase into three, four, or five. As the team expanded from washable rugs into play mats and new rug constructions for different rooms, every cross-sell opportunity depended on being able to re-engage a past purchaser.

But every purchaser leaving checkout without opting in to marketing was a subscriber Tumble had already earned attention from and couldn't reach again. With a UK launch also on deck, the cost of that unreachable audience, and the compliance complexity of capturing more of it, was rising.

The challenge became: how could Tumble capture more marketing consent from purchasers, without disrupting the checkout experience, and without adding compliance risk across regions?

Solution

A one-click dynamic consent layer that grew opt-ins without touching the CX.

Shoptin is a dynamic consent layer at Shopify checkout that captures marketing consent from purchasers at the moment of highest intent.

For Tumble, that solved three things at once:

  • Tumble captured more marketing consent from purchasers, so every first-time buyer became an addressable audience for future cross-sell.
  • Tumble didn't disrupt the checkout experience — a single-click install with no changes to customer service flows or internal SOPs, and onboarding in under 15 minutes.
  • Tumble handled regional compliance dynamically, adjusting copy and disclosures to each shopper's location, ready to scale as Tumble expands into the UK.

In a 30-day A/B test, Shoptin drove a 29% lift in opt-ins.

Results

Tumble turned checkout consent into $185K in incremental LTV in three months.

In three months with Shoptin, Tumble has turned checkout consent into a durable source of repeat revenue. 10,000 incremental subscribers have driven $185K in incremental revenue that didn't exist before Shoptin.

For a considered purchase category like rugs, those subscribers become an addressable audience across every future launch, seasonal moment, and cross-sell opportunity.

"If I can get an incremental 10,000 emails for virtually no work and minimal cost, I am obviously going to take that every time."
